Costume Analysis:
Our default costumes were done to the specifications of the initial promotional artwork of the twins with little details like the boots, socks and bandage that Mayu wears taken from other promotional artwork/wallpapers from the official site. In the initial promotional art, Mayu wears high black boots rather then the short dark brown boots and knee high light brown socks as seen in the later images and the game. Why? Coz dear Ivory had access to a lovely high-res, slightly bigger than A2size, 150dpi file of the artwork to scrutinize. Shh... We can't say where she got it from. ^^
A soft, polyester based, dark brown fabric with a unique texture almost identical to the one seen in the promotional art is used to make Mayu's pinafore and Mio's blouse. One good point to note about the fabric is that it doesn't crease easily so the costume maintains its neat-ness after wearing it the whole day.
Mayu
She wears a two piece costume consisting of a black blouse and a brown pinafore.
The black blouse has a stylized cheongsam collar design with slightly puffed short sleeves with simple black corded lace trimming.
The brown pinafore is slightly more unique in that there's a white attachment to the front. Though most cosplayers have sewn on a separate white "tongue" to simulate the ruffles on the side, Ivory's mum and herself personally believe that the tongue is actually attached directly to the blouse with the "ruffles" being the folds that result from the pinafore. The top of this section curves in like a heart rather then cutting straight down. Large white lace with a V pattern that resembles that of a tablecloth is attached to the hemline of the pinafore.
She wears dark brown boots, probably suede or leather with light brown, knee high socks and her right knee is bandaged with white bandages.
Mio
Mio wears a 4 piece costume consisting of a black camisole with lace, a brown blouse with white lace trimmings on the collar, a short white skirt with lace trimmings and a black three-quarter length pants with black lace trimmings.
The plain black camisole is a straight cut camisole with lace trimming at the top. At the very center of the lace trimming is a stylized butterfly with 6 wings making it resemble a flower of some sort as well.
The brown blouse is short, with white trimmings on the sleeve and neckline. The front of the neckline is relatively wide, low and square-ish whilst the back is rounded with a uniquely designed corded lace that makes a point on the shoulder and slowly tapers down to the bottom of the base of the neckline. There's a distinct v shape in the front that shows off the butterfly lace design on the camisole.
The short white skirt is gathered slightly at the top creating a nice flare. Large white v-shaped lace similar to that on Mayu's pinafore is attached at the hemline.
Black three quarter pants are fitting and probably stretch with lace trimmings at the bottom.
She wears white socks which go slightly over the ankle and black mary-janes with a strap that goes over her ankles.
