The story of Fatal Frame 2 is a rather complicated one that draws a person. The whole game is really freaky but worth playing. Part 2 is alot scarier, yet at the same time sadder then the first one. Well...both are just as sad actually... T___T

Just some basic info on the game. It revolves around twins in "All God's Village" going through the "Crimson Sacrifice" at certain intervals to protect the village by appeasing the "Hellish Abyss" and prevent the "malice" from overflowing and engulfing the village. When it came to the time of the Crimson Sacrifice after a failed one involving the Tachibana twins the year before, the Kurosawa twins (Sae & Yae) attempted to escape with help from Itsuki the Remaining. Sae wanted to go through the ritual in order to be with her twin forever but still followed Yae and fell during the course of their escape and was caught by the villagers. Yae on the other hand, got lost in the forest and only managed to return to the entrance of the village after the Repentance had occured. Out of desperation, the last Ceremony Master (the father of Sae & Yae) tried to complete the sacrifice with just one twin thus strangling her and throwing her into the Hellish Abyss.

This of course, would not work and so the Hellish Abyss spat her out along with the last Kusabi. Because the Hellish Abyss had already grown stronger after the Tachibana twins' failed ritual, the seal on the Abyss broke when Sae was thrown in and Malice began pouring out and engulfing the village in "eternal night". By this point however, Sae's soul was so twisted and corrupted by the Malice in the Hellish Abyss that she went around killing all the villagers and laughing manically. Many many years later(I don't really know how many decades or centuries...), Mayu and Mio enter the village....
